On Filae (behind a pay wall), you will find cards mentionning the same couple. A marriage in Paris, Saint-Côme parish, 02/APR/1783

His card gives the following iinformation

Marie Catherine's card tells us that she is born to Et(ienn)e and Cath(eri)ne BAILLY

Louis Laurent LABILLE and Marie Catherine PERROT divorced in 1793. She remarried (second husband Charles PROTHAIS)

But is this Louis Laurent LABILLE the same person as your ancestor ?

I search for his baptism record.

I found a baptism record on September 9th 1760 for a Louis Laurent LABILLE born to Louis LABILLE and Magdeleine CHARLOIS. He was born the day before the ceremony.

Place of birth : Yèvres-le-Petit (Aube)

Godfather Laurent DROTIERE residing in Dampierre. He signed Laurent DROTHIER
Godmother Jeanne LABILLE daughter of the late Jean LABILLE. She is his first cousin, also residing in Dampierre

How do you know that your Louis Laurent LABILLE was a native of Yèvres ?

Louis LABILLE married Marie Madeleine CHARLOIS on November 20th 1758 in Yèvres-le-Petit.

Parents :

Louis LABILLE and Anne DROTHIERE, from Dampierre

+ Jean CHARLOIS and Marie Madeleine CHARLLES, from Yèvres-le-Petit

Thank you so much. But now I’m confused because I wonder if it’s the same one. Our guy was 80 when he died which would make him older then the Louis who came over in 1790. I don’t live in DC so I don’t have access to all records. But I understand that some modern male Labille’s have informed a cousin of mine that because we come from a female we don’t have the dna. It’s annoying because she was the great great granddaughter of Louis. Any way thank you. I’ll pass on this info to my other cousins.

Hylaire CHARLOIS, brother of the bride, was a witness at the wedding. He moved to Paris according to

The other witnesses were

Louis LABILLE, father of the groom
Jean DROTHIERE, cousin
Quentin CHARLOIS, uncle of the bride

A Quentin CHARLOIS, a widower, got married in 1767 in Montmorency-Beaufort (Aube).

Previous marriage in 1755 http://www.archives-aube.fr/ark:/42751/s0055683891bf1b1/55683891cd031

He is 43 years old and is a widower of Jeanne GOPILLIAT

First marriage in 1734. He is a son of Claude CHARLOIS and the late Magdelaine VAUTIER

Now, let's find if Claude CHARLOIS and his wife are the grandparents of Magdeleine CHARLOIS

The age given at death is often inacurrate.

You mean you don't share the same YDNA (assuming you were a male) but you still share some DNA
