I am trying to find genealogic data on the family Reinhard (Reindert) Kamphorst / Aaltje van de Pol which emigrated from the Netherlands to Brasil about 1860.  I know there are several descendants with the name Kamphorst but cannot find the connection to this family.  As I don't speak portuguese I don't know where to look for civil records.  Is/are there any online Brazilian databases with genealogic data ?  In the Netherlands we have a site called WieWasWie.nl (Who was who?) where one can find such info.

Until now there is no unified civil service searches in Brazil. In 1860 even harder. If you know the county and state of birth, marriage or death, I can try to collaborate on location.

thanks already for the offer.  I have tried to make an extract of the data i already have from Reindert Kamphorst and his descendants in portuguese (with the help of Google Translate). You can find the data here ;  http://86.89.23.164/public_html/gwk/index.php/tak-brazilie.html.

Only a few minor erros:
- enterrado = "sepultado"
- em Conventos, em Lajeado, em Brasil, etc.
- Ex. Armando, nascido em 1917, no Brasil.
- ca. = em
- Willem, nascido em 01-08-1895 em Rotterdam.
- para Wassenaar em 55-anos de idade = em Wassenaar com 55 anos de idade.
"Convents" should be a specific location, a farm or village, for example.
City = Lajeado  -  State = RS = Rio Grande do Sul
City = Não-me-toque  -  State = RS = Rio grande do Sul

Hello Victor,

thank you for the help and corrections.  I am using a computerprogram for the genealogy-database. This program has a specific language file what I am translating in Portuguese.  However, this file only converts the standard-texts into Portuguese.  Additional info about a person that i have (biography etc.) will not be translated automatically by the program.  Therefore you will still see sometimes Dutch words and sentences.

The corrections you mentioned I've mostly incorporated into the portuguese language-file for the program.  I will put an updated version of the Descendants of Reindert Kamphorst on the website soon.
